Simple Desk: Riser

This is the latest in a series of projects for the simple desks I build a couple years ago.  The previous projects are located here:

Simple Desk
Simple Desk Drawers
Simple Desk Cable Management

The goal is to get the monitor up off the desk so that the notebook and other items can be pushed back allowing space for the keyboard, mouse and desk lamp.  Luckily the weather cooperated, it was 35 degrees outside, a full 45 degrees warmer than a week ago!

Utilizing leftover 3/4″ plywood from the clamp rack project, all pieces were cut to size:  the top at 59″ long by 7″ wide and the riser pieces cut to 4″ high and 7 inches long.  To hide the plywood edges,  pine was ripped to the width of the plywood (which is less than 3/4″), glued and nailed in place.

The finishing part will have to wait until spring.. unless we get some more of this “warm” weather.  Not a complicated project by any means, but very useful.
