Understated Desk – Final Glue-up and Assembly

Finally at a point where the glue-up can begin.  Since I have already dry fit all the pieces prior to final sanding, this glue-up process was actually quite easy.  All mortise and tenons were completely covered in yellow carpenter’s glue using small acid brushes. The front and back leg assemblies were completed first, then the two were joined together with the side and drawer panels.  Once assembled, the a lot of clamps were used to secure the joints while the glue cured.

The desk top edges were eased using a 1/4″ round-over bit in my router, and a light sanding of the vertical corners.

Next items to complete are the drawer assemblies and finishing.  Getting close!
